Right at 9:48- right when that monkey wakes up - I "swear" I heard Joel say (satirically speaking the part of the just-awakened monkey) "S#\t am I tired!"- I had to stop, go back & listen to it again to make sure, but, yeah, that's what I heard, at least 2 or 3 times. He says it sorta quiet-like; not a whisper, but in a sort of soft voice-I don't know if it was, like a "slip"(Freudian or otherwise) but it's there, unless, it only sounds like that...that word. maybe if the sound was enhanced, there'd be revealed something else said. But for now, I'm sticking by what I heard!!

why does the ape who hates godo turn off the electrical field before trying to shoot godo? Is there a reason other than plot convenience? It makes the monkey always carrying a screwdriver believable by comparison

I think the part during this episode that made me laugh hardest wasn't actually a riff it was when I found out Pepe was actually a girl! Also, the Japanese sure like to gasp. A LOT

If they really want Johnny to care about something, they just need to find him something he'll like to do. For example I've heard many Japanese children from that era like boot-blacking. In fact, I've heard some even like boot-blacking VERY MUCH.

Ok, I wanna post a quote, but I am having problems finding it's origin (If it is a song by Donovan or at least based on a song by Donovan, I want to add in the lead in line... just cause it's the way I am...) Do the following lyrics register for anyone?

🎼 Walk-ing.. in the grass,, with the sun light.. in her hair 🎼

Waiting for Godo. A play by Samuel Becket (sort of)
Act 1
A country road. A tree.
Evening.
Gebar, sitting on a low mound, is trying to take off his boot. He pulls at it with both hands, panting.
He gives up, exhausted, rests, tries again.
As before.
Enter The Minister.
GEBAR:
(giving up again). Nothing to be done.
THE MINISTER:
(advancing with short, stiff strides, legs wide apart). I'm beginning to come round to that opinion. All my life I've tried to put it from me, saying Minister, be reasonable, you haven't yet tried everything. And I resumed the struggle. (He broods, musing on the struggle. Turning to Gebar.) So there you are again.
GEBAR:
Am I?

Joel has a pretty decent baseball swing in that awesome opening host segment or they did a plethora of takes. It's harder than it looks to hit a round ball with a round bat off a robot head, but we found out Joel is a Brewers fan.

"Maybe an earthquake!" "Yes, but nothing will happen suddenly." Just have to say, in my experience, that's kinda what earthquakes DO. It's why scientists are trying to create some sort of early warning system for earthquakes, but to my knowledge no one's done it yet. Anyone else find that line rather hilarious?

Gotta love Sandy Frank’s production values. In the scene where His Excellency stops the execution of Godo and the others, an actor dubbing one of the underlings completely blows a line: “Your Excellencly.”
How much does it cost to retake a dubbed line, fer Pete’s sake?

Time of the Apes started out as an entire TV series broadcast in Japan (of course). Sandy Frank then edited the whole thing down to a 97-minute movie. BBI pared it down even further to make KTMA episode 17. This episode is missing at least one scene from the KTMA version, but it's honestly a little less confusing without it.

Special guest appearance by baby Eli Mallon (son of Jim?).
