I wasn't paying much attention, but that load just ask her to make dinner when he's been home all day playing with his records? Dump him!

Ahhh say what you want about the movie, but I would definately sit in that cafe and sip coffee and play chess while listening to live bongos and vibes like in the opening scene...

One of the best shorts!
Is it me or does the 'lost children' sign seems a little over the top... it appears to light up! Not to mention the large number of kids that apparently have also been lost/neglected.

Ahh, the stupid ages, before IMDb. Just a few clicks and we find that the conductor was played by Gene Roth, with pics of Mr. Roth in many other films, such as Attack of the Giant Leeches, (Earth vs.) The Spider, Tormented, and She Demons.

The moral of the short seems to be that if you wander off at a crowded fair, you'll get to do all sorts of cool stuff and meet every celebrity. Who is this kid, Forrest Gump?

I teach pre-k (4- and 5-year olds), and I don't think Johnny is 5 years old. He looks no older than 4. Why does the short lie about his age? To make it seem less tragic and negligent that a small child is allowed to wander off?

And crow's line during the short, "Oops, sorry dad," is one of the greatest lines I've ever heard.

I liked Gypsy's math probl-er Gypsy's train story. It was gritty and thought provoking.

Is it weird that I noticed that 'Johnny At The Fair' uses the same music as the short 'Aquatic Wizards'? I guess stock music had to start somewhere!

This film. . . Woof. I wonder how long you can power the city of San Francisco using nothing but the energy generated by Jack Kerouac spinning in his grave?

Lol, Yay! I know all those stations Joel was listing during the creative writing segment. ^_^ Also, Crow, that was just so deep! And Gyspy's story. Wow. Really makes you think, huh? :P
Good episode!

Another favorite of mine, another ep that I'm surprised hasn't gotten more laughs. (Hey, c'mon! Jazz jokes, a great short, the "Who Is Meritt Stone" finale, and a climactic fight in NEWARK, People! This is a certified gem!)

File this under 'Can't Be Unseen': When Joel is filling in his "Paint-by-Numbers Mark Rothko" what does he draw?

Here's a hint: It's a part of the anatomy of a little less than half of the population.

Did anyone catch the shout out to the original Ocean's Eleven starring the rat pack? In OE, Sammy Davis, Jr. sang a song with the lyric E.O. Eleven! Joel said that when Mr. Trucker told the men he wanted to steal a million dollars. Obscure!

Y'know, I didn't hold up much hope for the short in the first couple of minutes, but then Joel'n'the Bots caught fire and really started ripping into it. This is becoming one of my favorite shorts.

The feature itself wasn't an instant favorite, but it grew on me very quickly, thanks to the riffing on Edward "Chief" Platt and that I Sing Whenever She Sings Whenever I Sing Whenever She Sings Guy.

Worth it for the short alone, but the movie gets less excruciating in the second half.
