I actually find it creepier for the girl to shave Eegah than her dad. Kinda gives me the jibblies.

"Watch out for snakes"......I remember an episode of the US version of "The Office"; they were having some sort of an outdoor, Survivor, type challenge. In a scene where everyone was getting off a bus, Michael (Steve Carell), shouts "watch out for snakes"; I always wondered if it was an homage to this episode. I certainly laughed like it was.

So Arch Hall Sr (Robert Miller, "the dad"), at the time he made this movie, was actually dating Marilyn Manning (Roxie, his "daughter"). So he had his actual son date his actual girlfriend in the movie he made. Issues much?

OK; I'll say it: I'm impressed that Eegah drops the girl ('human shield'?) as soon as the cops draw. He's been nicked by rat-boy's shotgun already, in the mountains, and as soon as he sees the 'Desert sheriff Patrol' get ready to start blasting, he saves the girl from their hail of bullets. They clearly liked each other (see her pre-party talk with 'Dad'), and were eloping. She wanted out of her plastic BS country club existence (and wanted to start dating a grown-up!), but was raised too passive to do so herself. Whenever Eegah shows up, she simply 'swoons' out of any/all decision-making capability and 'lets it happen'. As far as I see it, between her loser BF and her shave-requiring 'Dad', she was aching to bust out, and Eegah was her romantic ticket out of there. It was a pure Hero Move to drop her out of the line of fire when the shooting started.
Eegah, of course, learned too late that Man is a feeling creature......

Funny about the Vicky song. He wouldn't be singing that for Vicky the Evil Babysitter. Right Trixie?
"If he was singing for that Vicky, I'd say good luck. She's heavy in the dominatrix, and he may not leave the bedroom alive if he dares."
No doubt.

Haha! Someone should make a playlist of all the terrible fathers in MST3k movies! It would definitely have to include:
1. Collaborator dad (from "Eegah")
2. Depressive dad (from "High School Big Shot")
3. Alcoholic hick dad (from "The Pod People")
4. Apathetic scientist dad (from "Horror of Party Beach")
5. Ineffectual doormat dad (from "Jack Frost")
... and many more!

I love the flowers in Tom Servo's head while he's affected by the airplane glue. Surprised the clear globe head wasn't used more often. And yes this movie is way underrated. [BTW I recommend The Sadist if you want to see Arch Hall Jr in a non singing yet still scary role.]

"Vitamins are good, they say, and so's a gallery..."

This is seriously one of the most baffling lines I've ever heard in any song, which leads me to believe that they cut a verse about vitamins. And going by the rhyme scheme he's got going, it must have been something like this:

"If I had...
...to plan my diet...
...'round a deadly...
allergy...
I'd split...
...my vitamin supplements...
...and share...
...with Valerie."

What else rhymes with Valerie?

So the whole rigmarole is a set up for a make-over for YeekGad -- there was shaving cream and much cavorting -- and then when he's all into it, they leave him holding the bag. That could turn a guy cynical. If he's still out there in his corner of as yet to be discovered America, I'd like to ask him about his romantic plans going forward; can he rediscover those days of innocence before he bagged ( in the archaic sense ) his first female and approach life as a pretty cool caveman with a helluva club ready for action? Only geological time will tell.

The movie is just the right flavor of awful, the music is, in reality, very fun and appropriate for the tone of the film, and each main character has his/her own memorable scenes and qualities.
