Hey, I think I might see how that got the diet gum/hippie subplot into the main plot. When Pete Thornton is leaving, threatening to come back, he has a hat and coat and briefcase. When Clu gets on the plan in disguise, he has a hat, coat and briefcase just like Pete's. It's like he borrowed those things to get on the plane.

Maybe?

Much has been said about the "brown-ness" of the print, the sepia tones of the time. I think it looks like the wood paneling of my basement room in high school, and for that reason I used to hate this one and find it depressing, but it's a new day, time to let go and laugh again.

Here's another episode of fictional Excitement at 'San Francisco International'. It's so full of MST3k-style 'continuity gaffes' that it deserves a critical look:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybLwWDBMERw
The first one I noticed was the plane's tail is intact during the crash, but has disappeared when the plane comes to rest (with no skid marks, either!). Just for us, the actual NTSB has confirmed the pilots names as:
Som Ting Wong, We Too Low, Ho Li Fuk, and Wam Ding Ow.....The local news anchor read them off (in that, their proper order) without cracking up.
This was, of course, a Real News Story, and as legit and true as everything else that's 'News'......American consumers from coast to coast are to ~believe~ this stuff (as you know), but the mockery's so OVERT here that as soon as I read the pilot names, I thought of "San Francisco International", and realized I'd better share the mirth with my Mystie pals........

Why is Pernell even on the flight with the senators and congressmen? Did he travel to DC to pick them up and then fly back? And then he goes right to work at the airport despite having just arrived from a cross-country flight. You'd think the guy who runs the airport would have enough clout to get himself the rest of the day off.

So Clu Gulager got his start in Westerns. He actually played Billy the Kid in The Tall Man. He's been acting since the late 50s. ...and he was in a movie as recently as 2012, although the level of quality appears to be much lower. It's called Piranha 3DD. The cover has a large image of a woman's cleavage with some piranhas in the background.

I'm convinced the my-parents-are-divorcing-so-I'm-sad kid was in on the plan with Tab Hunter and Big Ears. He stole the plane at exactly the right time to divert attention away from the heist going on. They would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for Clu Gulager's total apathy for the kid's situation.

All in all another made for television movie which wasn't too hard to swallow. The riffs were just icing on the cake. The whole Erkel skit should have been just one though as it got old fast, but I did enjoy Torgo showing up and ruining it. Also, love how Mike continuously uses the "Slug bug" routine throughout the series. Poor Crow. lol
