So, a black dress (that's less revealing than her other dresses) and a sideways ponytail denotes the evilness in Jessica? That, and the "sassy" attitude and ability to drink one small shot of alcohol, of course. She MUST be a servant of demonic spirits!

Sorry guys. Can't seem to figure out how to crop the video properly to get rid of the static bars at the sides. I tried the cropping option on Mpeg Streamclip when I export the episodes, but to no avail it seems. Hope it isn't too distracting.

At 48:30, they show the head-chopping scene. Sure, cheap special effects, but for 1958, isn't that a bit strong? In an era in which married couples slept in separate twin beds, bullet wounds produced no blood, etc. Just a little surprised they went all 'Braveheart' on us! Thoughts?

The comedy central era is the best in every way, whether hosted by Joel or Mike. Trace Beaulieu was as much of an asset to the show as Kevin Murphy. Bill Corbett always seemed like he tried too hard, like the annoying kid in a group of friends who tries to fit in.

I'm kind of surprised a movie from 1958 showed a guy's head being cut off point blank as opposed to implying it like in The Undead, whether it looked cheesy or not.

It seems to be a normal theme in old folklore and myth for people to sentence their enemies to immortality. I just don't get it. Like 'You are an evil murdering bastard! So I curse you to live forever to spread your evil into the future for all time!" WTF? That makes no sense!

awww, the best-of missed on of my favorite riffs. When the 2 guys are guarding the "tray-sure", and start fighting, the old lady Flav-o-flav comes down in her nightgown to see what the fuss is. She turns around go head back upstairs and the riff is, in the old lady voice, "I'll go get my blunderbuss.." (meaning shotgun). Ha, I love that one.

One of the things that interests me about this movie is that Jessica proves she has these powers, that she's had them her whole life and yet, when she warns the others about the dangers of digging up the chest, of searching for the coffin, the evil that it will bring, they all scoff at her. Who's the person who can dowse for water and find things and hear voices? Now, do we believe her or the people who didn't even believe all that was possible? It's almost like Cassandra at Troy...only that story was a lot better. :)

An underrated episode. Mostly consistently funny, although on re-watching it, I noticed that after about the 200th hot-chicks-making-out joke, those ceased to be funny. Kind of like them overdoing the wide/narrow jokes in Assignment Venezuela. I'm rarely critical of the eps, but the could have cut the number girl-on-girl jokes in half and they would have retained their impact.

i need to start torrenting episodes, why is it that a lot of Sci-Fi era episodes are blocked/removed? Is NBC Universal REALLY that money-grubbing??

Okay, so for some odd reason, when the final notes were playing at the end of the movie, I suddenly had "He tried to kill me with a forklift!" in my head. Not sure why.

Teri Gee - about 3 years ago
2 laughs

Report

So...what I draw from the final scenes of the movie is that Linda and Jessica were both under the control of the ineffectual head, after Mike was killed. Hank was never in the head's control, right? So, he was too busy being drunk to pay attention to anything? And Aunt Flav-o-flav was too money-grubbing to pay attention to things being weird? Only Gordon was actually in his right mind and noticing that things weren't right?

Unfortunate that the movie was pulled from youtube. This is a classic for sure, and Jan in the Pan returns over and over for the rest of the show. I love how the end of the movie credits have the WRONG title of the movie!! How sloppy can an editor be to get the NAME OF THE MOVIE wrong in the credits! I also crack up with Crow says "hey that should be the thing that couldn't die the end" all in one run on sentence when he discovers the credits were wrong. P.S. The end credits say "The Head that Couldn't Die", for those who can't see this episode. But in the end, shouldn't that have been the name of the movie? I guess they didn't want to give away the plot in the title.
