With no prior notice, the Reverend and Mrs. Snow show up at Eric's house. Then, as they happily greet Eric, Mrs. Snow says, "What a wonderful surprise." Then to Jenny: "This is a lovely surprise." It seems that the person doing the surprising shouldn't say how great the surprise is.

You know, this movie is actually not that bad. It actually has a pretty promising potential tension and premise, unfortunately that premise sends mixed signals and the potential is so overstretched it's like watching the grass grow. I know of exactly 3 things that would make this movie a lot more enjoyable:

1. Smooth out the pacing. Make the scary bits much more intense and feral rather than dobbling about expectantly to the point that it's not worth to watch them.
2. RAise more implications that Jenny's Husband may not be as nice as we know. It was quite clever of them to have her Husband be this mysterious fellow who, while sympathetic for the better of his wife, may have some skeletons in his closet. or maybe not.
3. Remove the cop out of the Husband's attentions, with a lame "it was for the money". As a matter of fact, I think it would made it all the more creepy and interesting if the ulterior motive was never revealed. Because there was a good chance that her Husband may only had choked her to the point of consciousness so that he could protect her from her fears, or that he indeed is a crazy sociopath who wanted to kill her but was infiltrated by the 'skull' itself.

Despite that the Mercedes 300SL is the REAL STAR of this show, I have to give the Husband the runner up. He plays a good "sympathetic but also questionable" character.

One little detail that actually impresses me because it doesn't happen in a lot of the other bad movies they watch. After Eric jumps in the pond to look for the skull, he's running around the estate and, go figure, he's actually still wet. He did not become instantly dry. It's a small thing, but I've been surprised at how many times instant dryness occurs.

Gumby short + sketch is my favorite short-host segment combo - the way the servo and crow react is epicly funny. Butteryfly servo is the strangest thing hahaha - and the penguin customs LOL. This is such a strange movie - watching this unriffed (the original) would unnerve me - the atmosphere and acting - the black and white dreary ness - its really nothing about the script - more the atmosphere itself.
