Now that the new MST3K has had 2 seasons, what do you think of it? Is it a worthy revival?

How many MST3K Experiments have you seen? (before they were Riffed)

Awhile back, I had a discussion on here..of how many of the MST3K Experiments I had actually seen before they were ever 'Riffed'. Counting Season 11..I came up with approximately 75 Experiments that I had watched long before they were a twinkle in The Guy's eyes. Now having said that, just because I watched them, didn't necessarily mean I liked them all..but for the most part, they were entertaining.

How many have you seen? Scorecards, please. Only count the ones you saw before MST3K started...

"Restored" Versions Of The Unreleased Episodes

I wanted to alert everyone of a project I am working on. It is my goal to create "restored" versions of the 11 MST3K episodes that have never seen a DVD or digital release. Maybe one day some will make it to retail again but it looks as though, due to licensing issues with movie rights holders, these 11 will never see a quality release.

I have already completed the first one with episode 201 "Rocketship X-M". Making use of the Vol. 39 "Satellite Dishes" host segments as well as other episodes that have been released on DVD and current best versions of the 11 episodes, I piece together what I consider to be the best available version up to this point. You can see my version of episode 201 on the site here, playing from YouTube.

I am not doing any actual restoration work to the silhouette/theater/movie scenes video or audio. This would go far beyond the amount of time I have to invest in this project. Also, since I would be working from already lossy rips of VHS tapes it wouldn't be worth the effort. At most I might use audio from one source with video from another if I run into a situation where that would make a higher quality final edit but not much beyond that. Most of my restoration focuses on the title theme, host segments and Gizmonics Institute flyover cut-scenes during commercial sign.

Next I will tackle episode 213 "Godzilla vs. Sea Monster". I figured I would just do them in order.

Note: I am not including "Godzilla vs. Megalon" in my project because it did see a DVD release, even though it was brief and pulled quickly after release (Vol. 10). The proper DVD version is out there on the interwebs to be watched already.

Since Shout can license films from MGM, which Bond film would you like to see on MST3K?

My Choice would be Die Another Day, just because of the theme alone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNYlNmWfnxo
