This movie makes a LOT more sense after reading the Wikipedia page:
"The film was originally meant to be about evil aliens, but the producers demanded script alterations in order to cash in on the success of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial by featuring a child and cute, lovable alien."
Assuredly, the title sequence features the original pre-Trumpy alien monster.

I'm always impressed when they avoid the easy, obvious jokes: You've got a character named "Atari" here...This episode COULD have been wall to wall video game jokes, but they limited themselves to one or two quips about Pong. A lesser show would have grabbed for the low hanging fruit, so to speak.
