Well this movie was better than Warrior of the Wasteland! A title I often get confused with this one, that features the main male lead getting raped by a biker gang... Twice!

Peter Fonda passed away today...He was 79...

Dang. I was watching the Redemption episode of Star Trek TNG. I was doing a little research on the ep and discovered that Barbara March, one of the Duras sisters, died this past Sunday at age 65. I kind of wish I hadn't seen that, to tell the truth. I thought I would share that with you'uns.

I really liked the short, but not crazy about the rest. That's about the most negative I've been about any episode.

I just finished watching the Rifftrax of Voodoo Man this morning, and it strikes me that this episode has a very similar plot (and a similar ending). Women being abducted for the purpose of preserving his wife's youth and beauty. In Voodoo Man, he's trying to bring his wife back to life. But it's Bela Lugosi both times, too.

What, in your opinion, was the single darkest riff of MST3k's entire run?

For me, it is the 1st season references to a certain scene in Alfred Hitchcock's Frenzy:

"Love-ly. LOVE-LY!!!"

Anyone else watched Gor... you know the Swords and Dumbassery prequel to Robot Holocaust?**
For me:
+ 80% less "Cabot"
+ Oliver Reid (who outacts everyone else, which is great 'cos at this point he was being paid by the brandy barrel)
+ Oliver Reid bursting into flames (proof of above)
+ No Watney Smith

- Cabot is more of a plonker in this one
- Music far worse: it never seemed to match the mood, switching from Major to Minor to suspenseful almost at random
- Plot just unbelievably bad: "Well he just teleported from another dimension, but he's useless at sword fighting, so let's train him up to be our best warrior"
- The HomeStone still looks like a $5 Himalayan salt lamp from Aldi
- I mentioned brandy, but there's a nasty brand-ie related incident too

Yeah, they get a bad wrap. However, they do have their good moments. I actually really loved their stuff in season 8. "When I Held Your Brain in My Arms," for example, is a fun song. Not to mention I loved (no pun intended) "When Loving Lovers Love." I always find people a biiiit harsh on these characters, but really, Professor Bobo seemed to be a role that Kevin enjoyed playing. And Pearl is pretty diabolical and a powerful woman, that's for sure. Another Pearl moment that's great is when she meets Leonard Maltin. Thoughts? There have to be a few host segments from them you enjoy!
