When did HEEL-icopters become pronounced as HELLicopters? Also I have this pain.

You know, William Hopper's character on "Perry Mason" always led me to think I'd love to have "operatives." I've never been exactly clear on what they are, but they sound useful.

Good-looking women do not make it out of this movie alive.

The sketch in which the bots play stern but loving parents to Mike's petulant 12-year-old is possibly my all-time favorite. "We'll be right -- down, down..." "MIKE!"
That being said, I think the stinger should have been the "gesture professor" saying, "Primitive man, going into caves, reaching back and back, and down and down..."

When Neil answers the door to the detective and says, "Yes? What is it?", they could've gone full "Police Squad." "Well, it's the standard affirmative response in English, but that's not important now."

Fun fact: Gianni Russo, who plays the shadowy government functionary here, was in "The Godfather." He played Carlo, Talia Shire's abusive husband, who sets up Sonny Corleone to be murdered.

This was very nearly the last episode of MST3K ever. On the one hand, this would have meant ending the series on a high note; on the other, we'd have missed out on Bobo, Brain Guy, and all the great stuff from the next three seasons.
Highlights include Mike becoming a Starfleet captain, ineffectual claymation aliens, and a special guest appearance by Trace Beaulieu's real-life father.

Decided to look up laserblast on imdb to read reviews (of the actual film not the mst3k episode) Someone was so offended by the quality of this movie and the fact that imdb made the give it 1 star as the minimum they said in there review that they want to give it a negative score, a 10 black hole rating. I just thought that was hilarious for some reason.

In the opening segment, just before Mike says "engage", he blatantly mimics the 'The Picard Maneuver' by tugging down on his jumpsuit. He does it again in the later segment when he's in drag with the Star Trek uniform.
Watch for it in other episodes too, Mike seems to always throw it in when referencing lines from Star Trek the Next Generation.

My favorite shot is the brief one of the four bespangled characters conducting the synchronized cudgel fight in Toblerone's hideout. If Bob Fosse had directed "The Warriors"...
