Just so fellow Denver-ites know, this Fri & Sat (29th & 30th) at Voodoo Comedy Lounge, Frank and Trace are doing a live movie riff performance, as well as a "Meet the Mads." Looks like tix are 30 squids.

This new Aquaman film they are gonna make is gonna be dark. Why would you make Aquaman a dark character? He's campy! That's like saying: Okay, we're gonna make Shirley Temple with scary darkness and killer animal crackers in her soup!

I want to do the biggest MST3K binge watch ever. Watch every episode in order, day by day, I'll even watch everything that's available for the missing episodes! Should I do it?

that riff near the beginning - "No, that's hard to say" Seems like it's pretty hard to dub, too - has to be one of the all-time classic riffs and one of the best simple examples of this show's timeless delight.

as per the drill in the forehead after the commercial break to "relieve the pressure" .. that's a -real thing!- called "trepanning" that people used to do and sometimes still do. i got this crazy documentary on dvd several years back called "a hole in the head" after talking about it with this lady on another forum. interviews with people who've done it, talking to this real calm happy character with a funky dimple scar between his eyes on his forehead. references to it in film include the end scene of Pi. just for reference. world's a weird and wonderful place......

i'm generally not moved to laughter by Gypsy, but appreciate her as a device that accommodates the other characters and sensibilities ... however her line after the first break right before she moves off camera just completely floored me. what a perfect beat.

I know they allude to it a lot while watching the film, but it still has to be said just how good Paula's mother is! I mean it normally wouldn't be anything to comment on, but the whole crux of the film is supposed to be how her parents have failed her. Granted Dad is a little checked-out, (not to what seems to be an abusively negligent degree but OK), but Mom is very present, seems legitimately happy to see and be around her daughter, insists she have a good breakfast, writes her blank checks, is active in the community. What were we supposed to dislike about this character?

I was watching "The Magic Sword" earlier and I thought to myself, what a lousy name for this movie. The sword had barely anything to do with the damned movie. It should have been named something more along the plot line like, I dunno, "The 7 Curses"...?

Then I realized half the movies they rip on have horrible, misleading names.

"Star Force: Fugitive Alien 2"? The hell is Star Force? How about you leave it at Fugitive Alien 2? Or better yet, name it "Ken vs. Rocky" the Japanese really like the "vs". titles.

Another one of my favorites is "Pod People". I still don't get the name. They hatch out of eggs ffs, not pods. If that's what they were alluding to, at least name it "Egg People". I think a better title for that movie would be "Midget Mammoths From Outer Space".

I'll end it with that train wreck "Riding With Death". I think the writer went for a hail mary on the movie title after he reviewed the crappy script he wrote. The title is so stupid, I can't even fathom who approved it. I'll quote Tom on this one, "I hope they remember to pick up Death." Haha... I'd rename that movie "The Invisible Mellow Man".

What are some episodes you guys would rename?

Hey, kiddos! Just letting you know that I'm coming to you live from my BRAND NEW WINDOWS 10 TABLET! My dad managed to find it for fifty dollars somewhere.

That's not really relevant to anything. I've just been absent from the forum as of late, and I wanted to contribute something at least moderately interesting.

As you were.
