My mother's family picked cotton. I've been to Helena, AR and have driven through Hayti, MO. Its still an economically depressed area, but with a rich musical heritage. You can practically hear the old bluesmen wailing away, as you tour the area.
No doubt, but there weren't corrupt people, with just such schemes.

Sweet, a reference to the world's truly worst movie, Andy Warhol's Empire State Building--the Movie. (Some call it art, but then again some people would call it art if Warhol had farted in a jar and declared it to be his masterpiece.)

What is the guy implying when he says, "The dame said she voted last year. Maybe she lied?" The joke just missed my head.

Wow! I just finished watching that episode. It was hilarious! Especially when he made that joke. I'm going to watch the next one in order. I hope it will be as funny!

So it's 1971 and, on a road trip from Austin to San Francisco, Jody stops in a small town where people burned witches in the 1870s? How does that work? Did these yokels learn about witch burning in Europe CENTURIES ago in their little red schoolhouse and decide "That's a darn good idea"?

This is a timely episode considering how 🌏 Earth was destroyed in the collision with Planet X on 9/23/2017

Is it wrong that I find these 70's TV movie/pilots tremendously comforting? This episode, San Francisco International, Code Name Diamond Head - they take me back to our first color TV, junior high school...the terrible writing and acting is part of that whole nostalgia I guess. It was a simpler time (for me at least)!
