I read the Squirm entry on your site. I saw that no one replied when you posted it, and its like the last forum entry so its about to go away. Just saying I read it and thought it was funny. Although I think Spring Fever is the damn best short ever, around the Are you ready for Marriage one.

Hi everybody! Long time no see. Lotta new faces around here it seems. I've been pretty busy. Spent all summer inundated with research (which seems never-ending even though I've finished the primary stuff) and now I'm working on a pretty big project. That project is also why I haven't updated mst3kjournal.com in quite awhile. Dunno how many read it regularly, but I apologize for that. I certainly hope to return to it eventually, but what I'm working on currently is... less niche so to speak. Well, it's still pretty niche, but a bit more accessible!

I keep wanting to pop in here, but I'm trying to avoid online distractions. heh. That said, while I've been working at home, I've also handed off my former business for the most part and am doing the stay-at-home-dad thing, which involves a lot of home projects since we just moved to this place last year. Finally knocked off one of my bigger projects and, dang it, I had to share it with SOMEBODY because it feels goooood. All our books and dvds have been stuck in bins for months and months.

Finally got around to organizing/shelving all those bad boys.

Which fantasy film is more painful when taken on its own: Quest of the Delta Knights or Deathstalker III. I'm actually having a hard time deciding. Leaning towards Quest (and neither is in the realm of REALLY PAINFUL MOVIES), but they're both turrible and anathema to a fantasy lover such as I.

OT but just wanted to share a memory, likely brought on by the impending RoboCop reboot (UGH): Here is an awesome memory. Years ago in Toronto I was with my buddy AL who was driving us around downtown and we came across this wicked looking car when we noticed it said DETROIT POLICE on the side and then we noticed HOLY SHIT friggin RoboCop (actor Richard Eden) was driving in full getup as ROBOCOP! Now as if THAT was not cool enough? Pulling aside we were like "Hey RoboCop!" and without missing a beat and staying totally in character he simply slowly, robot like, glanced in our direction and simply said "Good day citizen!". HOW AWESOME IS THAT? Sure is was RoboCop the TV series but still damn cool.

What is the highest-ranked episode you haven't watched, and why haven't you watched it? What is your problem?

My episode is Hobgoblins, and I'm not watching it because the characters and story turn my stomach.

Am I the only one who's POed because a man is being hunted like an animal just for telling the American people that they were being spied on?
He did the right thing in my opinion; NSA has no right to spy on American citizens. Liberty BEFORE this supposed safety.

This afternoon, I was watching Experiment 013, SST Death Flight, and was checking out the KTMA station ID and time/temp "burns", and noticing that at airtime, approximately 5:30pm, the temperature in Minneapolis was 6 degrees Fahrenheit -- that's right, 6, count 'em, 6 degrees.

Now, this isn't to say that MST3K wasn't pure genius, or that Experiment 013 wasn't one of the jewels in the rough of Season 0, but I can't help wondering... could part of MST3K's early local success been the fact that at the time of year it first aired, it was so bitterly, oppressively cold that the entire population of the Twin Cities was cooped up in their homes channel flipping, landing on Channel 23 and asking themselves, "What in the hell am I looking at?"

Off-topic:

Do we have any experienced Geocachers here?

My wife has decided she loves the idea and did the five closest Caches today to get the feel of it.

Now don't get me wrong, I 100% understand the allure of it. It's totally cool. But it's not for me. I hate sunlight, outdoors, etc etc. I already feel itchy just having TOUCHED NATURE! I think I would have been way more into this when we lived in Europe.

That said, my wife really dug it and I'm cool with that. So I'm curious if any of you have advice on how to have the best geocaching experience/find good spots/make your own/best sites for it. For my wife the enthused, not for me the unenthused! I'm just the faithful tagalong.
