MST-Related Project I'm working on

Hey, everyone. And now for something completely different! It's been quite a while since I've been about. Last time I've been about was Christmas, and that was just to send my best wishes. I have no internet, at the moment, so I've just been everywhere. I'm glad to get the chance to pop on every now and again and I'd like to tell you about a project I've been working on.
As a lot of you know, I'm still in high school and am big in the music program and Drama program. We do a showcase of plays yearly and I wrote a play called, "Sceneception," a play about being a writer and the difficulty and caving in or not caving in to what others try to have you write. It made fun of many actual films and multiple classics, and it will be put into a competition soon, as well. But What I'm really excited about is my next project that is even better and inspired by MST3K a hundred percent. The play has no title, but the premise is as follows:
In a world where Trump becomes president (even though that is our real world), The Donald has allowed cruel and unusual punishments to be used in America. What are these punishments? Being forced to watch the WORST high school productions in the U.S. So, the plot follows four people who committed crimes, being forced to watch an awful high school play. You watch the play AND they riff it. They sit out in the audience with everyone else and riff the awful play. And yes. I'm also purposely writing an utterly awful play to go with it The plot of that play was literally generated using a plot generator for maximum cliches. I'm really excited for this. It's also relatable because I'm sure almost everyone has been forced to sit through an awful high school production in their lifetimes and wanted to commentate so bad, but couldn't because it's rude. I talked to my director of the drama club and she was all for this and let me greenlight it, and start writing it. It will be finished by Fall of 2017 and boy is this exciting. I'm able to write something that is different for the stage, but my favorite kind of comedy. So, I wanted to make sure to touch base and tell everyone about it here, just to see thoughts. It's definitely something that is different from other plays AND is making light of a situation that, frankly, I'm not a fan of.

Making a Day of It

Today is National Random Acts of Kindness Day. Yesterday was Do a Grouch a Favor Day. The 15th was National Gumdrop Day. Valentine's Day doubled as National Ferris Wheel Day. (Ain't the Internets grand?)

Point is: If we can have every sort of honorary "day" possible in an infinite omniverse, including National Aardvark Day (August 27th), why not a National Mystery Science Theater [and alums] Day?

Am I rabble-rousing and suggesting we write our elected reps to institute such a solemn nationwide pronouncement to enable a day of partying, props-giving, and fond hat-tipping? Yes, I suppose I am.

One last thing: We'll need a date. And a face. Maybe a logo.

I'd suggest the first national air date on Comedy Central. And buzz-cut, jump-suited Joel. Plus, the homey gray "meatball."

Let me first retire to the Hospital's Hospitality Suite and its lead-lined shielding -- OK. Now, then: Let the spleen-venting begin!
: )

Welp, we had to sign a confidentiality agreement, so I cannot tell you anything about the show. So instead let me just tell you about the funniest riffing I've seen this week, which is Rifftrax's Zindy the Swamp Boy. Has anyone seen this one? It stands with any of the best of MST. And it's available on Amazon Prime.

Valentine's plans, anyone?
I'm engaging in my annual tradition of seeing a movie by myself and getting drunk. I'm gonna see the Lego Batman movie tonight, but I'm nervous----Why? Because The Lego Movie is one of my favorite movies, and I'm afraid my expectations may be too high going in to see the spin-off. Has anyone seen it yet? How is it?

And anyone else got plans for Singles Appreciation Day?

Y'know, despite the riff or two they make about it, I never quite picked up on something until recently... They live on a walnut ranch... and as such you can justify not seeing any animals on the place. But then why do they have so much hay around the place? I mean I guess they might farm hey on the side, but they never mention it. Anyone else think they just needed them to do something farm-y and moving hay was all they could think of?
