I've seen both episodes a zillion times but it just hit me that Mickey Moran in this movie is the same actor (Tom Neal) that plays Clifford Scott in The Brute Man. Clifford is the guy that screws Rondo Hatton's character Hal over while they're in college, which leads to Hal burning his own face with acid. I only realized it because I was dozing and I suddenly realized his voice sounded really familiar. So I checked IMDB and there ya go! Turns out Tom Neal had an interesting but rocky real life as well.

The short is one of the best--but the movie is hilarious too. Mike Nelson as Glenn--and Joel's obsession with KTLA...

brilliant portrayal of Da Vinci (as a Scorsese movie character type)--during the break/skit--not in the movie itself.
