Servo yelling during the exchange between Mitchell and the kid at 57:14 is amazing

I generally like the host segments from the sci-fi era but the space kids ones are loathsome to me.

I'll admit that this is a great episode, but I don't understand the 300+ smiles. For me, the production value of the movie makes it such a painful episode to watch. I mean, it's just REALLY painful. (And that kid is so freakin' annoying.)

Somebody please help me. :)

I love how a short promo video that starts out about chickens actually ends up about how much we need oil.

I don't know if anyone else here participated in the "Let Rifftrax Make Fun of Twilight Live" Kickstarter, but there's been an announcement as to what film they'll riff. It's NOT Twilight, sadly but it's still a good choice: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rifftrax/rifftrax-wants-to-riff-twilight-live-in-theaters-n/posts/488630

Well, settling in for another viewing of Quest Of The Delta Knights. This was one of those episodes I saw when it first aired, and in reruns a couple of years after that, but it never made much of an impression on me. Ray really reviews the hell out of this one, which is good because the SciFi EG entry for this is kind of thin. (Btw, nice job ripping Delta Knights a new one, Ray.)

Everything about the Mads'n'Brains' performances is rocking so far. The host segments are rocking -- especially the Sir Thomas Neville Servo Consort -- and the riffing is solid, especially all the piss and cleavage jokes. Hearing Pearl's performance in the theater is giving me a nice little taste of what to expect at the CT show in a couple of weeks. She really is great in this.

Still, the movie itself seems weak so far. The premise, the acting, and the bastardization of history are all rife with a badness that should place it in a league with Deathstalker, except Delta Knights somehow doesn't seem to quite achieve a critical mass -- a gestalt, if you will -- of true, rock-soild, deep-down badness where the whole of badness is greater (worse?) than the sum of the parts.

Yet, it's really got a lot going for it -- the weak-assed analog for the Knights Templar, the chaotic mashup of Medieval and Renaissance history, the foppish wizard mentioning that he "never got a memo", the taking of outrageous liberties with the life of Archimedes and ancient Greek history, you name it. I also liked that the bad-guy knights' helmets are almost as stupid as the bad-guy knights' helmets in Deathstalker.

Ray doesn't seem to mention it anywhere in his review, but I also found myself somehow offended by the movie's portrayal of Leonardo DaVinci. I'm assuming he's supposed to be a young man at this time, but, still -- he's impossibly handsome and speaks with what sounds like it might be English, though it's almost as bad as the half-assed English accents in Deathstalker. Still, at least they managed to cast an actor who at least looked Italian.

I think the main problem I'm having with the movie is that it's just so damn' hard to follow the plot, such as it is. There's crap happening all over the place that seems vaguely connected to other crap, but it doesn't quite hook up.

So, anyway, I'm on my second viewing since I downloaded it, trying to decide whether or not to put it "into rotation". Luckily, the riffing is really killing, because the movie itself keeps losing me; oh, if only it were as bad as Deathstalker.

Some of you might be scandalized that anyone would do this, but I know I'm not alone. So...

What MST3k episodes do you most enjoy falling asleep to?

Destabilizing society to protect a perceived right to watch free movies during work hours, Fingal is living the dream of every entitled douche on YouTube.
