Riffs that get stuck in your head

Has anyone else ever noticed riffs that aren't even particularly laugh-out-loud funny getting stuck in your head? Right now I have Crow saying "Now cut that out!" in Tormented battling with a couple of They Might Be Giants songs for control of my brain.

My MST3K story (like anyone cares): I remember back around 1997-98 spending the night at my buddy's house one weekend, and he switches on the TV to MST3K (which I'd never heard of). We watched the whole episode, laughing our butts off and eating Nutella popcorn. For years after that night, I periodically thought about "that one show with the dudes peanut-gallery-ing movies while you watch along" but had no idea what it was called or what channel it was on or anything. You see, this was all in the 90's when I was just a kid, and my folks didn't have cable TV or internet yet (technophobes). So life went on for a while. Then, in college (where all good things happen) I got invited to chill one night with some friends like usual. I get there, and someone pops in a vhs of MST3K! I of course thought to myself: "HOLY CRAP IT'S THAT SHOW FROM WHEN I WAS LIKE 8!" i had started to believe maybe I had hallucinated MST but no! There it was before my eyes! Now I knew what the show was and I had internet! The path became clear, find out more about the show! But I was in college with much to do, so I put MST on the back burner for... ok I forgot about it for a few years. Then a few months ago Netflix put a bunch of episodes up on instant streaming that reminded me, so I watched those then proceeded here! Fin. P.S. Yes Nutella popcorn is every bit as F***ING AWESOME as it sounds.

UGLIEST MALE CENTRAL CHARACTER

So I'm watching 'Laserblast' as I'm heading off to bed, and as it reaches the picnic scene and the mental image of Billy having sex is seared into my brain, it occurs to me that Billy may actually be the most physically unappealing male lead in a MST3k film. So, would you agree? There are so many great choices, I know, like Mitchell or the eponymous High School Big Shot, but I think Billy's sunken eyes, terrible haircut, and general skeeziness put him over the top.

Also, let's limit this to male 'central characters', as in those characters who have their entire film revolve around them. Love-interests of female central characters do not count unless they get equal screen-time.

Since I see a lot about creating a MST3K dating site mentioned in this forum and I like to poke fun at all these sites popping up for real like Alien Dating, and Ghost Dating, etc., inspires my latest dumb idea for a thread.

What two characters from a MSTie'd movie would you set up? I would have to give the guy a break and set Glen Manning up with one of those 'Village of the Giants' girls. It's his only chance to see eye to eye with somebody.

MST Haiku Chase! (This is totally a game thread)

I'm currently on hold with the venomous hydra known as "customer support at the cable company" (okay, perhaps "oxymoron" was the word I was looking for there, not "hydra"), so while I resist the urge to cuss loudly and fervently enough to draw noise complaints from not only the neighbors but the neighboring counties, I bring you this in a desperate attempt to distract myself: an MST3K haiku chase!

It's like this. Someone posts a haiku. Someone else comes along, grabs the first haiku's tail (it's not as naughty as it sounds, promise!) and uses its last line to create the first line of their own haiku. And on and on it goes until an infinite string of absurdity has been spun, or everyone just gets bored and wanders off. You know, whichever.

So if I posted this:

Satellite adrift
Klaxon sirens herald cheese
We've got movie sign

And you wanted to chase me, you'd reply to my comment with your own haiku, and your first line would be the same as my last. Like so!

We've got movie sign
Hercules wears mini skirts
Deep Hurting prevails

Next?

So who is everyone's most shameful MST crush? I'm going to be really vulnerable here for my first forum post and say that I kind of find John Agar attractive. That's what happens when you let the smile touch your eyes.

For a while i would watch the Rifftrax for "The Room" every night. I now have that entire movie memorized, along with riffs.

"She's returning to 'The Room' having just visited 'The Can' " "Wow! you look so sexy Lisa!" "Yeah, she really nails the bloated corpse of britney spears look."

But i do have to admit, since after the first time i saw it I often skip the gratuitous number of sex scenes

Remember when Comedy Central used to show MST3K and The Kids In The Hall all the time? Those are probably my two favorite shows of all time. So, I got to wondering what some of your favorite shows of all time might be. I'll go first:

1. MST3K
2. The Kids In The Hall
3. Get A Life
4. The IT Crowd
5. The Ren & Stimpy Show
6. The Simpsons
7. SNL '90-'95 ish
