What man hasn't wanted to lop off his womans head and sew a better body under her?

So I just read that the 1922 classic by F.W. Murnau is set to be remade and I am, to say the least, confused.
I understand Hollywood's drive to capitalize on every well-recognized title and squeeze more money out of it by remaking it for a new audience. Sometimes the resulting product is infuriating; sometimes it's just forgettable. Occasionally the update is actually a good idea.
So I'm not bothered by this story in the sense that I think the new film will be pissing on a memory of a beloved classic. I'm bothered by it because in this case I don't conceptually understand what the hell a remake of Nosferatu means. Considering that Murnau was just making a film version of Dracula in absence of the rights to actually use the character's name, how would any modern movie that follows the same storyline be anything other than yet another adaptation of Dracula?
I earnestly don't get it. Will the new movie be a silent film? That's literally the only thing I can think of, other than the character's name, that would make any modern movie more similar to Nosferatu than to some version of Dracula. The unique look of the monster was already roughly copied in Werner Herzog's 1979 version, and also in one of the alternate forms of the vampire in Francis Ford Coppola's.
The only hypothesis I'm left with is that some asshole in a suit decided that given the number of existing movies he'd have to compete with under the title Dracula, his under-financed, destined-for-mediocrity exercise in filmmaking would stand a better chance of making money if it was marketed under the name of the one movie in history that it is impossible to remake.

Hey, Hi All! New to the site, Long time MiSTy... first saw it at the age of 9or 10 so 1991 or 2.. right around the time cable tv finally made it to my neighborhood at the time... anyways I recently thought about the show for one reason or another and decided to look it up on youtube and have been binging out hard ever since. I didn't realize that those SciFi channel episodes weren't re-runs at the time they were running ...anyways I'm Kenny..Glad To Know Ya!

I do believe that this film was shot through a urine filter lens.

So I went to see the new Godzilla this week at a drive in no less, sadly for the last time ever as this one closed the next day for good. Anyway it was decent, CGI's cool, very serious. I found myself while watching it wishing it was the old cheezy, bad graphic, unintentionally funny films of the 60's and 70's. I enjoy those more somehow. Maybe because I grew watching those, I dunno. Anyone else seen the new one and felt this way? Or just really like the old ones like I do? MST3K just made them better. but they had a certain appeal on their own IMO.

Hey MSTies. I just got confirmation that Total Riff-Off (that Nat Geo show with the boys from RiffTrax) is a definite YES. Quoting NGC's twitter:
"@Xterra1_ How we're celebrating April Fool's Day. If you like MST you won't be disappointed!"
Here's a link if you're not convinced.

And yes, that's MY twitter. And I made that BG image myself.

Man, I sure did ALOT of LSD back in the 1980's. Just saying! Ok I put that up here because I just love saying today's annoying catch phrases wrong, which I can only assume it's wrong because I have no idea what it means. But what I'm thinking it means is it's away to say whatever the fuck you want to someone no matter how ugly it is and just by putting Just saying behind it, it totally clears you for being an asshole. Am I right? I don't know. Just asking.
