So have I told you I have a man in space? No, literally, I have a man up in space!

This is the only Coleman Francis ep I can give a laugh, simply because it's the least depression. Red Zone Cuba is on par with Camus.

That american general at the beginning has got to be the best part of the movie. "Have you spotted anything on your radar screen?" "No, sir, they must be coated in, anti-, electric wavepaint, sir." "Operator hand me the mic. Calling all planes, fighter planes, based in the Arctic ocean... this is your commander calling, over." "This is the strategic fighter, over!"

This episode probably has the second-most annoying sound of the whole MST series: that awful, incessant ERP ERP ERP ERP ERP ERP ERP ERP alarm that is present in about half of the feature. I can't think of any other noise that gets under my skin other than the machine from The Projected Man.

Also, has anyone noticed that Corman flicks always have a dark-haired submissive milquetoast wormy guy? Sometime he works for a powerful woman, or against them like Viking Women, but he always has a strong relationship with strong women of some kind. Possibly he's a Mary Sue...?

Oh, right, this is the episode that The Comedy Channel aired out-of-order. You can tell because the final host segment mentions the Name The Avocado Man contest, referring to episode 110 Robot Holocaust. The Brains produced this episode late in the season, but the network aired it earlier - probably due to the fact that the season's first few episodes featured slowly-paced black-and-white badly-preserved movies; maybe also because the crew was much more comfortable riffing by this point.

Ok, yeah, Cleolanta is absolutely gorgeous. And frankly, if I was a sovereign and treated so flippantly by everyone like this, I'd be pissed off too!

The "Ingmar Bergen Tells a Joke" is one of my most favorite host segments. That and the Supercalifragilisticexpealawacky. I love it when MST3K gets so flat-out satirical.
