Anyone else think Frank Zappa recommended the movie "Village of the Giants" for riffing

I have read that Frank Zappa was a fan of the show and had expressed interest in collaborating with the MST3K group. I thought I remembered one of the group saying that they had talked to Frank Zappa on the phone about the show. I wonder if they asked if he had a movie in mind that they should riff on and this was the one he recommended. It came out right around the time Zappa was getting big and this movie is weird in a Zappa kind of way (giants ducks dancing in a nightclub).

Just watched Danger: Death Ray and thought was great. I'd seen before but don't remember if I laughed so much. That's the thing about these shows - very subjective, even to yourself--depending on what kind of mood you're in. My first comment here. Just re-found this site. (my wife says she found it and told me long ago). Fantastico!

For others who were also seeing Godzilla for the first time, did you happen to notice the character who was a subtle reference to film critic Roger Ebert? You had to have at least one eye open to catch it, but I assure you that if you watch two or three more times you'll pick up on it.

Did I blink and miss the murder of Rita? Or were the filmmakers too sensitive to show it?

What episodes that are widely considered fan favorites do you not particularly like? For the sake of defining "popular" on these forums, let's say any episode with 150 or more laughs. "Cave Dwellers", "Monster-Go-Go", and "Final Sacrifice" are the three I just don't care for-mostly because they're either very slow moving or have weak plots with almost no climatic scenes. The riffs just can't keep my interest in these movies.

episodes:
Jungle Goddess, The Painted Hills, The Screaming Skull, Squirm

I assume this is an announcement for the next box set. Not bad, I was hoping for "The Incredible Melting Man" though.

I assume this is an announcement for Volume 31 box set.

I'll see Crow's mouth moving w/o sound or sometimes just hear fragments of sentences from the cast members- it makes me really want to know what they said!! Is there any way to access uncensored shows or at least look up what got cut out?

Anybody possibly game for some DVD trading? (No, I don't mean ripping\duping\participating in similar activities that are generally associated with parrots, peg-legs, and a bottle of rum. Just swapping legally purchased DVDs.) As I sit here staring at Amazon's box set sale, I reeeeaaally wanna get some of these (FUGITIVE ALIEN! LOST CONTINENT! Yaaaaay!!), but some of the eps that come with them as a package deal...not so much.

Anybody else in a similar boat? Either with box sets you already have, or box sets you're thinking about buying? If so, do you think we could possibly set up a swap post here? The general idea would be that anyone interested in participating would post a list of eps they have and don't want, and also post a list of eps they're looking for, and then if the stars align, people can just PM each other and work out the details. Good idea? Bad idea? Something else entirely?

I watched "The Brain That Wouldn't Die" today and the way the main character treats women, and the way they react to his treatment, made me want to bite some jugulars and rip off some arms. Seriously, the monster is the least disgusting character in that movie.
I also remember getting really mad during Kitten with a Whip because Ann-Margret's character is insufferable.
