I find the early episodes from ssason 0 quite enjoyable for their own quirky style and sensability. They are definitely more of an acquired taste for the moore seasoned MST3K fan, it takes some time getting used to Tom Servo's voice. I really liked some of their riffing and this movie.

The original KTMA version with Joel and Josh is so much funnier.

Interesting that in the intro to the season 0 episodes they have Gypsy after Tom Servo. Maybe back then they felt Gypsy was more prominent than Servo? Or maybe the Robot Roll Call listings doesn't mean too much. Maybe I should just relax...

I kind of like the slower pace of the first season or two. There aren't as many big laughs but they're still laid back enjoyable episodes, especially when the movie isn't half bad.

Who convinced them that this trouser chili needed a song and dance number at the end?

I know the common consensus is that the woman with the accent was by far the worst acting in the bunch... but I seriously cannot listen to a single line said by the father of the main woman without giggling hysterically at how stiff and lifeless he is.
