I really did post your comment on my Facebook page. This is what it looked like:
On my MSTie fan page, someone asked a gal named Pika what shoes she was wearing. This was her answer:
"Neon pink jelly sandals kthnx. If that doesn't scream 'hardcore badass Sith lord,' IDK what does."
Oh how I love the interwebs sometimes.

Joel Robinson is an epic dickweed in Soultaker. Discuss.

So I'm about to reveal myself as the overly analytical shameless dweeb that I am, but I gotta throw this out there. Does anyone else get cheesed off watching Soultaker? Specifically, that whole part where Joel merrily leaves M&tB stranded in space and does so with enough self-righteous bravado to put every televangelist on earth to shame? Okay, so obs M&tB can't actually be rescued since that'd kinda kill the show and stuff, but there were a ton of in-show ways they could have gotten Joel off the ship, kept M&tB aboard, and not had Joel acting like the biggest jackass this side of Castle Forrester. (Hell, at least the peeps on Team Forrester openly admit to being evil\sadistic\batshit insane when *they* joyfully strand people in space!)

Joel's escape in Mitchell was one thing - Gypsy surprise!booted him out to save his arse after he point-blank told her he'd never willingly leave. Okay, fine. But then he shows back up in Soultaker to fix the ship and...what, campaign for a spot on Jerry Springer's "Deadbeat Dads and the Bots Who Love Them" holiday special? He’s so content to gleefully ditch his creations after they get all excited to see him again, it’s flippin' twisted! Major league douche move there, buddy, f'realz.

Am I the only one totally bothered by this? I get that the skit is\was supposed to be lulzy, and maybe on the surface it is, but the undercurrent just feels icky and wrong, like someone put this warped dark twist on J&TB’s usual whimsy and warmth, and not in the “hilariously dark riff that makes you laugh and cringe at the same time” sort of way. It's more like a Mirror Universe sort of way, except this wasn’t a mirror universe! (OR WAS IT?!) IDK. This ep totally puts me off the character of Joel Robinson, or at least makes me wrinkle my nose a little, and that ain't right! Someone PLEASE explain that I'm missing the point. Flame me! Kick my ass! Tell me I'm wrong and tell me exactly why! I hate disliking a character I love, and I want...nay, need to make sense of this madness! (Also, preemptive bronx cheer to anyone who pulls the "Repeat to yourself it's just a show" line. That's only applicable to science facts, not speculative character analysis. So there.)

So many epic, awesome things in this ep! The drink names! The "McCloud!" sequences! The mads being involved with most of the host segs! This is one of my all time favorites, but any time I've tried to watch it recently, I start tearing up at Clown in the Sky. When did I turn into such a sap?!

This is the episode that made me like Pearl. I love her in the theater, and she's got some awesome chemistry with the bots. Wish this could have happened more often, or at least for a longer period in this ep!

Holy crap, naughty riff at 20:15! Am I hearing this right?!
Crow: "Do you have any of those little cocktail weenies?"
Servo: "Joel does."

Bwaha, KTMA callback! This ep is amazing in ways far too numerous for me to fit in a little text box.

There is a riff in this, and used also in Mighty Jack. The riff is, "I was born in the house my father built." I didn't get it what it referred to but after hearing it so many times I googled the phrase and it's the opening sentence of Richard Nixon's memoirs.

Where's the MAD influence?

I've been browsing my collection of MAD Magazines from the '70s, and it made me think that there are amazingly few references to this formative medium in MST3K. I remember Joel referring to an All Jaffee fold-in at one point, and perhaps a mention of Don Martin, but other than that I come up empty. Anyone know of other riff-erences? I could be wrong.

Because of certain data and monitary limits I only have episodes I found on Youtube. (I have a program that can download videos dirt cheap as far as data goes (A full episode averages a little under 60,000 kb)) but it only works on Youtube) There are a few episodes I don't have because of this but the one I think I miss the most is Deadly Mantis.

That you could probably accept never seeing again? Either you seen enough or just never liked? If that is just to insane to comprehend perhaps the episode you could hold off re-watching the longest?
