So if they don't have to be brides, then why not just kidnap people?

The actor who plays the blackmailer is Joe Turkel. Turkel was in several Kubrick movies, and played Eldon Tyrell in Blade Runner.

He's an awesome actor. I'm surprised they didn't recognize him.

I love puppeteering. It's one of my side hobbies. And, of course, MST is full of puppeteering! My favorite puppeteering feat in the show, I think was how Gypsy was controlled. Jim Mallon, while I'm not a fan of him (especially after that animated atrocity he made) he made a really cool rig for Gypsy. It was a marching band percussion harness (it was either snare or bass drum) that Gypsy was connected to. The performer, in this case being Mallon, would wear the harness and be able to have more control over Gypsy's puppet. I just find that such a cool thing. What is your favorite puppeteering feat of MST?

A fun episode, but the host segments are pure gold. And having the alternate-dimension Dr. Forrester & TV's Frank riffing was one of my favorite times in the whole series.

So, my mom was flying cross country to see me a few weeks ago, and she had enough miles to get a 1st class ticket. Who should get on the plane but former Senator Bob Packwood.

He had to fly coach, though. Natch.

I love his contemptuous, "What's the matter - no money?" He's quite the gem.

Even if the Nazi doctor's experiment subjects were forced to wear hoods, how could he not tell when one was his wife? Who can't recognize the body of their spouse?

Edgar G. Ulmar directed this? No wonder this is one of the MST3K movies I actually sort of like. He did a lot of fairly good (albeit weird) film noir movies in the late 40s, such as "Detour."

I'd put this quite a bit higher on my favorites list, except it's Joel's last episode. I loved Mike's work... but... when i was a kid, losing Joel was losing a friend.
