If there was an award for legitimate good performances in movies that have no right to have them, Beverly Garland would have been a shoo-in here. She brings such genuine, nuanced emotion and pathos to the role of a wife who's concerned her husband has fallen under the spell of an evil pickle from Venus.

I know they allude to it a lot while watching the film, but it still has to be said just how good Paula's mother is! I mean it normally wouldn't be anything to comment on, but the whole crux of the film is supposed to be how her parents have failed her. Granted Dad is a little checked-out, (not to what seems to be an abusively negligent degree but OK), but Mom is very present, seems legitimately happy to see and be around her daughter, insists she have a good breakfast, writes her blank checks, is active in the community. What were we supposed to dislike about this character?

At 29:31, Georgia says that when the professor wrote his last diary entry, he had no idea how horribly he would die. Except, of course, for the very last thing he wrote in that entry, where he says something terrible will happen to him. Which Georgia herself brings up. In her very next line.

From Wikipedia, about another one of Pierce's movies: "He received some criticism for the graphic violence portrayed in the film, particularly one scene where the killer ties a woman to a tree, attaches a knife to the end of a trombone, then repeatedly stabs her while playing the instrument."

This movie seems surprisingly pleased with itself for coming up with Gary's leg-based code system, but it never really justifies the need for it. Was Gary just super shy or something?

I like how the two doctors at 1:03:19 have been sitting next to each other for the entire flight, but only decide to talk to each other about why they've been called to Albuquerque twenty minutes before they land.

After multiple viewings, I just realized that the guy making out by the pool at 1:18:25 ("HE'S REAL?!?!") is "Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living And Became Mixed-Up Zombies" director and star Ray Dennis Steckler!

Tony does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in his role of hero of this film. The only thing he does is pretend to be dead, which by definition, requires no action whatsoever. How many movies could write the title character out entirely and end up being a tighter film?

They should have kept the original ending for the story of Father Frost. Read this:

Max is a total jerk to the waitress who's just been threatened with losing her job if she serves his girlfriend. Apparently the incomprehensible Keller charm doesn't extend to imperiled waitresses.
