Pretty crummy of Rod not to tell the cops as they arrested Linda that she saved his life by killing her boyfriend! That should have gotten her some sort of break on her sentence.
I know it is the simplest of all possible riffs, but I can't not explode with a guffaw every time the dinosaur smashes through the nun's door and Mike says "Amway!"
(And, the Swiss-born hero is surprisingly good-looking, for a change.)
That fine old tradition of the one black character getting killed first carries on......
I was worried for the Mads and Joel as both their inventions had sudden flames shooting out! Was that a coincidence, by the way?
Geez, first the sheriff is a peeping tom/misogynist/near-child molester, and then the judge is a b*#@h and a half for sentencing them as vagrants when they were definitely on their way to somewhere. The girls were more likely to get in trouble working as slaves on the farm than if they had just been allowed to go on their way. Those rotten 1950s!
I actually like the way Richard Kiel's voice is so tender and polite with the blind lady in early scene, and later, too. And hey! He's not that bad an actor, as some say here.
OMG, Mike and Frank were hilarious as JC and Gooch!
And is it just me and half-remembered Psych 101 class, or is there an obvious sub-text of latent homo-eroticism between JC and Rommel?
In this and at least one other MYST Joel said "look out for the dwarf!" Does anyone know if he is referring to the evil dwarf in the very scary movie, "Don't Look Now?" I can't think of any other one.
I love it that the tough "gang" kids were fazed by the very thin old lady high school teacher coming down the hall. She said nothing, just raised a finger, and they skedaddled! Ah...the good old days when authority figures were mean!
Was it on purpose that the Mads used Ethan Allen (old woodworker/furniture guy) in their opening, and then an actor had same name?
Did I blink and miss the murder of Rita? Or were the filmmakers too sensitive to show it?
Say what you will about the quality of the movie. But that JC is a great villain. Pulls off the unstable sociopath character perectly.
