Joel mentions, with an obvious "eye roll" in his voice, endurance swimmer Diana Nyad, saying she's "attempting to swim the English Channel. Again." In September, 2013, after 4 attempts over her lifetime, she finally managed to swim from Florida to Cuba. It took her 53 hours and she was the first person to complete that swim without the protection of a shark cage. She was 64 years old at the time.

You know...if the movie gave any indication of WHY getting bit by a bat caused him to convulse and turn into a bat-headed human being, it would actually be a lot better. But there's nothing to explain it! He's acting weird BEFORE he gets bit by a bat. He keeps trying to get the anti-rabies serum for some reason. He starts needing blood...for some reason. Why? And why is it transmitted? I keep thinking that it might actually have been slightly creepy with a little bit of reason behind all the incomprehensibles.

Closing credits: "You have seen Hamlet by William Shakespeare"

They LIE!... this is not by William Shakespeare. Sure they use some of his lines. The basic plot is by Bill, other than that....

I am sure the trimming for MST3K helped remove a lot of the lines, but... Rosencrantz and Guildenstern don't even have a line in this production. They are not even mentioned by name. Pelonious never instructs his kids to avoid work in the financial industry. In the original play, Hamlet discusses suicide BEFORE he instructs Ophilia to become a sister == or a whore (I know. I mentioned that already as a response to one of the notes in here, but..). I, personally, believe that Bill would NOT be offended by this episode. I think that, if he were still here, he would have gladly sat in with Mike 'n da bots and tossed in a few of his own riffs.

This has been bugging me for a while. If you have a radar screen with four progressive circles around the center signifying distance and the largest circle is 200 m and the distance between each of the circles is the same, It would NOT signify distances of 200, 75 and 50. It would signify 200m, 150m, 100m and 50m. Where the hell he comes up with a circle signifying 75m is beyond me.

I saw a note somewhere that Kiel is in this movie, so I payed attention to the credits and, sure enough, he is. Then I payed attention to the movie, looking for him.... and looking for him... and... took me a while to figure out that he was the dog creature in the prison cell. So it is official that he is in THREE episodes of MST3K.

One of the weirdest parts of this movie is that there's a serial killer on the loose, targeting teenage girls (except for that one that didn't fit in with the pattern...inexplicably), and no one seems to think that there's any danger. Parents are gone until all hours of the nights, leaving their teenage daughter completely alone. A friend of the teenage girl was killed and yet she doesn't lock any doors when she goes home and is ALL ALONE in the house. Her boyfriend spends no time mourning...neither does anyone else.

It's like the murders are occurring in a parallel universe or something.

I am confused. This movie was made in 1958. Napalm was developed in 1942. But the fire-bombs that the plane dropped were a bit more structurally destructive than Napalm (all the dust coming down on impact). And... napalm has a wonderful splash effect when it hits. The bombing area in this film would only need one good hit considering how it spreads itself out on impact. But, hey, what did these guys know about air-strikes.

I know they discuss it, but the anachronisms of this movie just... get to me. When you have a berserker (they use the interpretation Bare of sark or bare chested, when I tend to believe the ber sark or bear shirt) from the... 8th... 9th century carrying a pair of katanas from the 15th century and flying a glider of the 20th century to attack a 17fh century castle owned by Genghis' third cousin (13th century), I think anachronistic is an understatement. Add on the sunglasses, the tire tracks, and the modern city in the background just for fun and I really want to ask the producer and director what the hell they were smoking when they put this thing together.
