The lads are moving into their new student flat, and Mike's explaining to Neil why the previous tenants left a huge pile of unread mail in the front hall.
Mike: They were illiterate.
Neil: But they were philosophy students!
M: So?
N: OOooohhh.....
M: So?
M: Anyway, they're probably bills.
N: ...
N: ...
N: Who's Bill?

The vitamin pill, frozen dough, the tie clip, the nylon windbreaker, naugahyde, GIA technology, helicopters, planes, the styrofoam peanut, the bendy straw, margarine, Crest, fireworks and corn dogs are the only things listed that were actually advanced by space technology, right?

RIP William Christopher. He once said M*A*S*H was about a priest in Korea.

The strange thing is, that Squaremaster thing would work. You're just moving around and simulating exercises, which is actually exercise.

I'll choose Back-Handed compliments for 100 Alex. The answer is "He's a whisper thin fellow".

And I know, "repeat to yourself it's just a show", but it made far more sense that Mike and the bots would be tortured by these films by Dr.F's experimentations from Deep 13 than it does that Pearl is in ancient Rome and somehow sending them movies.

This isn't actually that bad. It's a fairly standard fairy tale.

Here’s a phenomenon I’ve seen mentioned briefly in interviews or MST documentaries – easier if I just cite an example. Watching an episode with my 12 year old grandson, the movie’s giant bug or whatever has left a trail of destruction in its wake, and the riff is something like “Oh, Keith Moon was here.” The kid cracks up laughing. On a hunch, I ask “Do you know who Keith Moon was?” Nope. Not a clue. Never heard of him. But he was laughing just the same – real, genuine laughter. What the hell is that? I enjoy researching and writing annotations (annotatedmst.com) to explain stuff like that, always thinking it’s “for the kids,” but maybe I needn’t bother. I’m not sure it’s just kids, either. Ever experienced this? Any theories?

This movie would have been watchable, even without the gang, if it werent for the HORRIBLE effects of the Main monster baddy and his flying..uh..cave bats? Most of the movies are really dry, tedious and/or painful to watch but this one holds its own (relatively that is) and is now among one of my favorites. When the letter asks why Joel looks so sleepy when he talks cracked me up, i always thought Joel looked SEVERELY uncomfortable on camera and wondered if he ever smoked a little something to calm his nerves.
