Well, after about six months of avoiding Facebook and most news, I'm much healthier, and easing myself back into reality (ahead of schedule; I figured it'd be post-election).
I'm not even sure it will affect my contributions here, but pls pls pls friend me on FB... pls?

What's the deal with the guy constantly saying things twice? "There are ways. There are ways." "Around. Just looking around. "When do you go back on? When?"

I'm a Lions Club member, and two of our ten members are Steves. So, tonight at a meeting both Steves were sitting next to each other, and were introduced, and then one of our guests was erroneously introduced as Steve, and to my utmost delight, someone shouted "Not everyone is Steve!" lol.
Say, who are some of your favorite Steves?

I'm not the only one who feels like this episode is *extremely* overrated, right?
The host segments are weak to say the least, the riffs fairly standard, and the movie too unbearable. There are so many better episodes! And especially if you're going to introduce someone to MST3K - this is *not* the episode to do it with!

The Forum is very cluttered with all the old posts. Gives an illusion that it is way more active than it was. I will watch the eps.more now. See ya! To the few who are still here. Not interested in very old threads reposted.

Don't just relax...get riled up!

This is just a continuation of what Teri and Daq posted below; it gave me the idea to start a new conversation just for the heck of it.

I know that many fans of the show like to quote the theme song: “Just repeat to yourself it’s just a show, I should really just relax” when others like to point out flaws or otherwise question things they see in movies (whether from Rifftrax, MST3000, Cinematic Titanic, or just those seen in regular settings). However, the "you should really just relax" response isn't exactly valid when someone is posting about an actual movie, and I think it’s a half-hearted, uncreative response to the person’s questions or observations. That phrase (as well as the rest of the theme song) was intended by Joel and others to explain away discrepancies of the show, explain its backstory, and address the lack of production resources. That doesn't mean fans shouldn’t pick apart a movie’s plot holes, nonsensical details, and dumb features because they should “just relax” and not question anything. In fact, Joike and the 'bots WERE ON THE SHOW to question and point out movies' flaws. They didn't relax-they laughed, got “upset”, poked fun, and sometimes make a huge deal about the problems they saw in the movies they watched. So let fans post their questions and impart wisdom as they fit, without telling them to just forget about it. It doesn’t hurt to discuss these topics-that’s part of the fun of this forum!

Bizarre MST moment

I'm watching HGTV, and there was an ad for the Kia Soul which (very oddly) featured a gerbil/hamster escaping from a hospital. I don't get that, but there was a song playing in the background that I suddenly realized I knew.

Motorhead's Ace of Spades, known for being the opening credits song on Zombie Nightmare. The part that I noticed was what Tom and Crow riffed on.

"Okay. So he's mad that he's losing but that's the way he likes it?"
"Then, everything works out!"

It was a strange moment when MST popped up in a place I never expected.
