For all those in the path of the eclipse and concerned about swarming crowds on local support services in communities, all I can say is: I really empathize, but imagine we will all weather the "Zombie-Apoc-Eclipse" in spite of our make-a-buck and bandwagon-and-fad-thronging selves.

I guess it was so slimming the entire post just up and disappeared! I can relate to your computer having heat problems..got over-heated myself yesterday (again) doing some yard work..started feeling puny like Bruce Banner..This new(old) blood pressure medicine they put me back on doesn't work well in the heat. I mean how much f***ing water/fluids do they want me to drink anyway?!? 3 Gatorades and 2 Large Glasses of water in a 2 hour period seem like it should be sufficient but 87 over 66 tells me otherwise...

Fun film and soundtack: "Micmacs." French, with English subtitles, and a really fun soundtrack. Sample track (end credits) shows some of the delightful, "Looney Tunes" -esque treatment:

AHEAD OF OUR TIME?
An old memory in my head recently surfaced: It's 1977, and a military buddy and I are having beers in a small bar in Germany. We're all watching a film the bar is showing on its projector, up on a small screen. (Sort of a novel experience back then. It was some cheeseball "Jaws" ripoff flick, as I remember.) Anyway, cutting loose a little, my pal and I are kicked out of the bar a short time later -- for talking back to the screen and providing comedic commentary. (In time, we would come to call these "riffs" and "riffing," but that would be a decade or so away.

(No, we're not geniuses -- just playing the same TV-watching game many were doing then, before MST3k. and out in public... but not well appreciated for it, this time out, by others at the watering hole.)

Awhile back we were talking about Favorites under-achieving..from the New Season...Re-watched Time Travelers the other day and one thing I did notice is the 1st half of the movie has many awesome riffs(with loud fits of laughter) but it seems to lag considerably in the 2nd half of the movie...You would think with all the stuff going on during that part of the movie it would have been a lot funnier.

Back from another skull nuking, and moving pretty slow. No fish/fiss here, and I still don't lisp when I walk [not that there's anything wrong with that] -- but, for the halibut, I am told by the good folks in Nuke Medicine who run the Brain Roaster 5000™ therapy ride, my scalp now smells like a surgically windblown combo of smoked sea bass and cajun-blackened catfish. (I know -- the Sturgeon General should look into this fishy bizniz, especially as he gets paid scale...)

And thanks for the Be Sure to Get Well [Drinks] messages here. Skoal!

Or, rather, I should say, "Screaming Skoal!"
