Dear Rain - Please fuck off to the Valley or San Diego, or someplace where they actually NEED you, at least until we can get the roof, here, fixed. Half my bedroom is covered in paint chips and plaster chunks from my goddamn ceiling... [shakes fist at sky; dries fist, resumes shaking; repeat]

Improv tip for beginners: Not everyone who says "I got your back," gots your back. Unless a knife is involved. Bah.

Well I seem to have acquired your 'Bad Head Cold' although today I'm feeling a little better...It's 75 one day 35 the next...typical Texas but it sure leads to the proclivity towards getting 'colds.

Here's an old topic that may be made fun with all the new Misties on board:
What phrases or riffs from MST do you find yourself using in the real world?

I still use "Go ahead on" quite a bit.

And sometimes when I'm dealing with a laborious challenge I recall the wisdom of Crow and say "The only way around it, is through it."

"And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!"
https://www.apnews.com/868e731d260f4919b28218dcf345071f

Opportunity, the Mars rover, was a simply amazing beast of a machine, outlasting his predicted functioning lifespan 60 times over.
In another words, it was...

"THE ROVER THAT WOULDN'T DIE!!!"

Its fellow rover, Spirit, likewise outlasted its predicted 3 month efficacy 20 times over.
Fans of Mystery Science Theater 3000 that we are, if you're like me (and... well, you know) it doesn't take much to imagine these mechanized, computerized wonders imbued with sentience- can you conceptualize the odyssey of discovery that was Opportunity's existence? I mean, even just acknowledging them as the non-anthropomorphized, non-PIXAR instruments the two were, what they accomplished is mind-boggling.
And the fact that their journeys have finally come to an end, that their data stream from another planet has stopped, well, it fills me with a slight sense of melancholy.
But also a sense of wonder. I thank the men and women of NASA for giving us this phenomenon of knowledge and exploration. This is what humankind was meant to do: learn.
Farewell Opportunity and Spirit. You may never have had to sit through "Manos", but you got to riff on a whole planet.

Just finished watching Svengoolie and tonight it was the first Gill Man movie...interestingly, many familiar faces on board. Re-watching it reminded me the 2 main protagonists [Carlson and Denning] were the leads in Tormented and The Black Scorpion... and everyone's favorite Nestor Paiva(looks like rain over Nestor Paiva) is in the original , as well as the sequel. Paiva also played Lafarge in The Mole People... then you have Whit Bissell, playing another Doc, who is Little Joe's Doctor/Psychiatrist from I was a Teenage Werewolf.
It's a small world..after all.....
