It's the "little things"...

I love most of the show's host segments. However, my favorites include a lot of little details that help expand the character dynamics and the world. For example, I was watching Eegah for my most recent "Mitchy Science Theater" episode that I was working on and noticed how many little details are there. Like, when Joel and the bots are talking about their own personal Hell and while that's going on, Joel is just doing some tailor work for Crow. Or, when they were talking about families in the 60's and making jiffy pop popcorn. All of these things just add to the experience and makes the host segments just kinda feel very natural. For these sketches, they could have easily just had the conversation, but instead, they added these little details, all the way down to Crow saying "ouch" to the pins being put on his shirt. I love attention to detail in MST3K because it helps me love the characters even more. Do you have some favorite moments with little details that make a big difference?

What's the oddest reaction you've ever seen to a riffed movie? I think we all know one person who says: "Why are they talking over the movie?"

Yeah, they get a bad wrap. However, they do have their good moments. I actually really loved their stuff in season 8. "When I Held Your Brain in My Arms," for example, is a fun song. Not to mention I loved (no pun intended) "When Loving Lovers Love." I always find people a biiiit harsh on these characters, but really, Professor Bobo seemed to be a role that Kevin enjoyed playing. And Pearl is pretty diabolical and a powerful woman, that's for sure. Another Pearl moment that's great is when she meets Leonard Maltin. Thoughts? There have to be a few host segments from them you enjoy!

In the spirit of closing credit conversations like Soultaker and Hercules, and what with the giant leeches going on to steal antiques, what happens after the credits roll on a film? What is there to tell in the next installment in what's sure to be a profitable franchise? What would be the Rogue One of the Gamera series? Final Justice XIV?

Riding a surge in real estate prices, a property developer is eyeing up the only district in Albuquerque where prices have slumped: the recently and hastily-built enclave known as Little New York.

Space Mutiny: The Next Generation
Commander Ryder (he inherited the job from his father-in-law, and yes: the outfit comes with the position) these days leaves the heavy lifting to his son Mike. And he really does have a LOT of lifting to do. At least fifteen reps. Most obviously against the Unukalhai pirates of the Serpens Constellation, but there's also growing discontent among some of the officers of the Southern Sun's Security forces about the length of the voyage (after all, even in space you can't have a mutiny without mutineers). This time they have some support among bridge officers, who are starting to find their working conditions chafing, like having to show up for their shift even when they're dead.

OK, on Quest for the Delta Knight- which is one of my favorites in terms of hilarity, ever notice the red haired princess' boob job mid-film? One minute she's a B-cup, yet the second she's kidnapped her cup size increases to melon size. She also offers herself to the pre-teen(?) kid "T" for a few coppers when she's working at the tavern- but when they all get together all of a sudden she's off limits?? And why would any female offer up herself to a boy who looks about 12? Anyone else find the man/boy friendships in this story a little unnerving, and Baydool kept touching the blonde kid, touching his shoulder, his knee.. then they put the kid in a fruity pony tail. They filmed this on a ren fair location, and at a Shriner's in San Fran. Notice the secret book in the beginning that Baydool shows the "kid". It has the AA logo on it, a triangle/pyramid inside a circle. Is this some kind of secret society/illuminati symbol? Whatever it is, it's creepy. I felt like the whole film was some kind of advertisement for a weird new-age pedophiliac cult. What do you think sirs

The Full Mitchell Experience

In my suggested videos on YouTube a while back was the full, uncut, unriffed version of 'Mitchell.’ I felt like I had to watch it, if only to finally find out Mitchell’s first name. Right away I was surprised just how much was edited out for the episode. It’s roughly 24 minutes of footage cut. In fact, the unedited movie is a bit longer than the entire MST3K episode. There’s too much to list it all here, but here are a couple significant scenes axed:

After the shooting at the beginning, the next scene is of an apparently drunk Mitchell detained in the back of a police cruiser. A call about the crime is heard over the police radio and the car takes Mitchell to the scene instead of what presumably was going to be jail. It’s a short ride, but Mitchell is remarkably sober by the time they arrive.

Later, there’s a lengthy scene centered around Mitchell and two bad guys with dune buggies. John Saxon is one of the two. They attempt to kill Mitchell by running him over, but Mitchell, on foot, outmaneuvers them. Eventually, the unnamed bad guy gets a wheel stuck and Mitchell is able to hit him over the head with a rock and commandeer his dune buggy. He then chases down Saxon, who for no apparent reason, overturns onto the roll cage in loose sand. Even though it’s a rather gentle crash, he’s instantly blown up in a giant fireball.

Also nixed was a good deal of gun violence, Mitchell shoots dead a few bad guys. Salty language and more romance scenes were also removed, although sex is more implied than shown. Thankfully. Uncut, the movie is still a mess, more footage only added more unintentional humor. I think they were trying to cash in on the appeal of ‘Dirty Harry,’ made a year before. Not quite, they didn’t get there..

And sadly, Mitchell’s first name is never revealed

Pick ONLY ONE movie from each season

I'm just curious what movies people would pick if you could only watch one movie from each season? Would it be the one with most "laughs" or something else. Speaking personally I have a few favourites that don't have many "laughs" and some that have high ratings I don't much like at all.

Mine are:
1 - The Crawling Eye
2 - Catalina Caper
3 - Gamera (season 3 doesn't have much for me, so this is my least hated lol)
4 - Being From Another Planet
5 - Mitchell
6 - The Creeping Terror
7 - Laserblast (again, no real fave, so least hated)
8 - Space Mutiny (although I adore The Deadly Mantis and can't really choose)
9 - Devil Fish (although Hobgoblins and Werewolf are also tied for first)
10 - Soultaker (yet again, no fave, so least hated)

I've not seen enough of 11 and 12 to make a judgement yet.

Well liberals….what do you think of Biden? Inflation skyrocketing here in America. Our Southern Border being invaded by unvetted, unvaccinated people…and now the absolute horror that we are all seeing played out in front of our eyes in Afghanistan, as your hero, Joe(I don’t even know where I’m at)Biden and his absolute failure and surrender to the Taliban has resulted in the slaughter of, at this writing, 16 American Marines. You voted for this person, liberals. How do you feel now? Care to comment? Or will you continue to live in a bubble and actually believe that Biden and the Democrats are doing ‘good’ for mankind? You poor, gullible, foolish sheep. This blood IS ON YOUR HANDS.

Continuing off of Rysov Pipple's extremely popular series of forum posts, here's the third coming of the "What's Next?" series, given that round 2's gotten awful big.

Rysov's rules, verbatim:
This is sort of like word association, but different. The rules are that your response has to be MST/RT/CT related and has to have (at least in your mind) a connection of some sort to the previous post, however literal or liberal that connection may be.

The last riff in #2, from whenfatkillsfat: "Sean Connery's brother won't be back again...in anything!"
