70 - Wooooo... My favorite number. :)

So um 70-ieth post for me. Not a huge deal really.

But I've been tracking my climb through the MSTies pages - not for any statistical validation, but rather I've used it as a way to learn about the personas hereon, both past and present. Interesting archaeology ...

Thusfar I've spied some early interpersonal behaviors typical of the bygone era of dial-up BBSes: people actually connecting through
the medium. And although that can be 'bad internet hygiene' / OPsec, it is heartwarming nonetheless. Not seen anything which screams 'stalking', though those tea leaves can be very very hard to read at this distance. Also spotted a (mercifully) few interpersonal battles - various participants still appear to be active, which is even more positive.

And finally a few mysteries wrapped in the riddle that is the Intarwebz. To namedrop but one: RevJoan - I suspect the story there is truly fascinating.

As the posting counts by individuals grows, so too does the time to read-back and comprehend. "It's not dull." _Slime_People_ (never thought I'd quote anything from *that* episode - oh, the inanity!)

Anyone have favorite riffs that make no sense? For instance, in Daddy-O: "Do you like the names of lots of fish?"

DEAR SCHOLAR:
What insight, wisdom and overall knowledge did you glean from the syllabus that was the collective films and shorts of MST3K?

Please cite the specific experiment. The lesson could be derived from the material itself or a host segment.

Hello MSTies of the known universe! I am in a predicament. In an experiment after a break, Tom Servo sings a tid bit of a song as a car pulls in somewhere. Unfortunately, I don't remember which movie it was so I can't try to glean more information about the song. It sounds a bit like the chorus from Pumped Up Kicks but mellower (it's definitely NOT the song since it was released in the 2010s) If anyone can give me information on which movie it's from or the name of the song itself, I would truly be grateful. Thank you and happy hunting!

I think what I am learning is that now, more than ever, it's specialty jokes. Specialty Jokes! That's right, MST3K is full of specialty jokes - jokes regarding subjects that the average person isn't familiar with. For example: car modification. Which writer do you think it was who brought their knowledge of thrush pipes and hooker headers to the cathode screen?

Name a specialty subject used as fodder for an array of jokes throughout multiple episodes and who you think brought that knowledge to the writing team? Your answers can be serious, goofy, or downright surreal. Good natured arguing may ensue.

Professor Gunther-isms :

Compendium of quips interjected by M&tB as Professor Gunther, mostly voiced as Gramps on the porch wearing a tractor hat, teeth in a glass next to him. Long, but it's a running gag over a couple of scenes...

Where am I?

Ah you're a general - I was a general when I was sixteen!

"... we're all in agreement:"
Angela Lansbury's hot.

"... comes from some living creature ..."
Maybe me.

Get back in your boat, Grandpa.

When's Jell-o?

Can I go home?

"You lost me Professor."
I thought I would.

Doctor Nedrick Jackson ...
"Nedrick?" "NEDrick?" "Nedrick." (heh)

"... with no more to start with than a handful of bones."
Like me.

Can't tell us a dang thing, can you sonny?

Hello?!?

I'm lonely.

Who are you men, and where's my soup?

Who's gunna drive me home?

I can't see a thing.

Please don't say 'elimination'.

Marie died, you know?

No!

Where? Where?

What? Where?

What are you doing tonight, SweetCheeks?

Leave me alone! My heart! (cough)
