Am I the only one that think Wanda should have ended up with Gus? That Charmin character shows up for one save, while Gus spends half the movie working like a dog to save Wanda time and again.

Damn...whoever 'owns' this movie is a real hard-ass! No other mst3k episode seems to get pulled as often as this one. It's aggressively hunted down and removed...what's the deal?

Is a Junk Drawer a Minnesota thing, or do other places call it that too? Seems like a Minnesota thing....

I have to ask...how, exactly, DOES a human being sleep 'nose-to-anus'? I mean his own anus, as it's fairly simple to sleep nose-to-someone else's anus...

I love how the plot of the movie is kicked off by a guy shooting an unarmed home invader (oh no!), so while attempting to nail the guy for this heinous crime, our 'hero' cop goes on a shooting spree, which included shooting a guy running through a public park for basically no reason, gunning down a bunch of unarmed people chasing him down the street, and shooting a guy in the face with a rifle who, as far as Mitchell knew, was unarmed and got rid of his gun.

I don't really get the whole 'old lady' scene. Was she in on it? Was the guy in the uniform who had her fill out that form in on it? Did Mitchell make her walk (instead of taking her somewhere safe) just because he's a jerk?

Marfushka looks like she could be Brienne of Tarth's obnoxious, nasty little sister.

So, you wanna know what a 5-lb. party is?

On another forum, I found out that Patty Marvel, a member of the Yahoo MST3K group, apparently sent a letter to Iowa State asking exactly this question...here is their response.

Dear Ms. Marvel,

Our office received your inquiry about the promotional film called "The Home Economics Story." According to sources here the reference in the film is to a "five-pound party." Apparently there was an old sorority tradition to have a party and bring a 5-lb. box of candy when you announced your engagement.

Sincerely,
Sandra Gartz
Assistant to the Director

You'll get your chance, you can make a book on it? Is that an expression in any language or country? Since when are writing a book and making a bet interchangeable concepts?

Hey Misties--Does anyone know the title of the country western song that plays while Steckler (Jerry) is walking around under the cable car tracks? (That scene was filmed in Bunker Hill, an area of LA that was demolished during urban renewal in the late 1960s. The cable car was called the "Angel's Flight"). I have been trying to track down the origins of that song for awhile now. Thanks for any leads!
